It has been three days since I have completed this book nook/end...
I love it! I even cleaned up my bookshelf to make it look kind of nice.
I slowly worked on this starting on Dec29th right through the new year. I mean I am a mom of two boys, and I work full time. So, between all of that and stuff around the house it was slow going.
I have never built anything like this before. Defiantly never in miniature.
Piece by tiny piece it slowly took shape.
I will have all of the pictures that I took while working on this in the project page.
I may have glued my fingers together once or twice. I watched more YouTube than I have in months. There also may be paint on my new desk.... shh... we will not tell my fiancé.
That lovley brown paper on my desk is... cough cough... wrapping paper... do not judge me... lol. Sunshine Town is one of four designs that I have come across from Robotime. Here is their website so you can take a peek for yourself. www.robotime.com
This one was TGB02 Sunshine Town. Aside from having to punch out all of the tiny pieces. The edges need to be painted, yes, they provide the paint and the brush, but you may want to use your own. The paint will take a few coats to be not so transparent.
You will also have to wire a few lights to the provided battery pack, batteries are not included. The touch sensor is also prewired for you. Wiring the lights to the battery pack was not as bad as I thought it would be.
I got everything wired and the batteries in and yelled for my fiancé to come see.... cause you know he wanted to see me wire it... I was ready... hit the power symbol on the front... and nothing... happened... I was like what the heck. How did I mess this up? I was crushed... I re-walked through all of my steps. I took the battery pack out of the tiny housing that was built around it.... and the lights came on..... The touch senor is screwed to the back of the power symbol so you should not have to use the power switch on the pack... Long story short the battery pack had a short in it. I left the bottom piece off in the front so I could reach under with my tiny hands and turn it on and off...
I really want to build another one.
